About Us

Back in 2020 one of our founders Shaun Herdsman, was working with Modiform as part of a team to create a line of packaging to safely transport plants directly to consumers. The team involved in this project thoroughly researched the market gaining an understanding about what existing online and mail order plant companies were using to package their plant orders, what gets actually gets recycled and what was demanded by consumers.

It was found that companies either used materials that they had laying around to package their plants, they wrapped them in excess of plastic or they bought ‘off the shelf’ plastic packaging.

From a consumer perspective it was obvious that they didn’t want to receive plant packed with plastic and it turned out that the plastic packaging wouldn’t even fit into the consumers bin without spending time cutting it up.

We quickly decided to create a plastic-free range of direct-to-consumer transit packaging.

Fast-forward to the present day and all of our packaging is free of plastic and is purpose-built for the horticultural industry to supply plants directly to consumers, streamlining your fulfilment process and elevating the unboxing experience for your customers.

Accelopack is proudly partnered with Modiform through an exclusive agreement, which allows us to bring new designs to market. Accelopack holds stock in the UK of the common models to be able to supply small or large quantities to companies of all sizes; from garden centres shipping plants locally to large companies creating bespoke designs with us.

Our ambition is to increase our range of models so we can replace the existing plastic clampacks and plastic transit packaging so that we can help all companies who deliver plants directly to consumers to move closer to being plastic free, helping to make our horticultural industry more appealing to consumers because its more environmentally friendly.

  • RECYCLING

    Eco

Although a lot of the existing plastic packaging used to ship plants is ‘recyclable’, it doesn’t get recycled. This is because it is too large to be processed by kerbside recycling companies. Not only that, but it is also too large for a consumer to put into the bin…imagine how frustrating that must be! The packaging supplied by Accelopack solves these issues.

  • PRODUCT

    Customers & End Users

We’ve received good feedback from existing and potential customers about the functionality and current requirement of the products.

We have even received some great reviews from consumers during their unboxing experience.

  • MARKET

    Many Types Of Retailers

There are 100's of companies selling plants directly to consumers. 12% of all plants sold in the UK are now sold online and that figure is growing with the rise of traditional retailers creating ‘marketplace’ websites.
